Rick & Shari have both been raised in the Shipshewana area. They have lived there since being married in 1982 and raised their 3 children there as well, Jason, Brooke & Mark. They have 7 grandchildren. Rick was a mechanic for most of 25 years prior to pastoring. During those years him and Shari were young adult leaders, then for 9 years youth leaders before serving as a pastor since 2005. He is most passionate about men’s ministry and marriage.

Rick enjoys bicycling, hiking and tent camping. In 2022 Rick & Shari embarked on the adventure of a lifetime and hiked the Appalachian Trail for four months.

Pastor Gordy has been pastoring at River of Life since 1996. Gordy & Denise have 3 children and 8 grandchildren. They are very involved in many aspects of church life including worship, women’s ministry and the practical side of church leadership. His passion is the study of God’s word and the accuracy with which it’s portrayed.

In recent times, Gordy has stepped out of the lead pastor role to pursue more of an apostolic role in meeting with pastors and ministry leaders to see “the church” become more united in trust and mission. He also has been teaching River School for several years, training others in specific areas of Christian leadership.
